Newborn Diaper Cover Free Pattern

I went to Meet my New Niece Clara, and she inspired me to create this adorable outfit for her, isn't she the perfect model?
The Yarn I used is washable, but I would hand wash it to be on the safe side.
Here is my Diaper Cover pattern for you, the booties are made with the same size hook, same yarn, just different colors, (see below for link to the booties free pattern)
I will post the little top and Hat Pattern very soon.

You will need:
Crochet Hook 2.25mm
Berroco Maya Yarn 5629 (Coral
Tapestry Needle

Stitches Used:

ch: chain
Sc; single crochet
Sk st: skip stitch
sl st: slip stitch




Pattern:


ch14


Row 1: in 3rd ch from hook, sc,  [sk st, ch, sc] 6 times, turn





Row 2: ch2, sc in ch sp, [ch, sk st, sc] 6 times, turn




Row 3- 6: repeat Row 2 (you will have 7 pat rep)




Row 7 : ch2, sc in next ch sp, ch and sc again in same ch sp, you increased by adding a pattern ( 8 pat rep)


Row 8: ch2, sc in next ch sp, ch and sc again in same ch sp, you increased by adding a pattern ( 9 pat rep)




Row 9-18: add a pattern at beginning or row and continue in same way you will end up with 19 patt



Row 20-28 :  ch2, sc in ch sp, [ch, sk st, sc] 15 times, turn (19 patt)




Fasten off

turn your work upside down

Row 1: With same color yarn, sl st and ch 3 at right corner, sc in ch sp, [ch, sk st, sc] 6 times, turn (7 patt)


Row 2-3: ch2, sc in ch sp, [ch, sk st, sc] 6 times, turn (7 patt)

Row 4-18: add a pattern at beginning or row and continue in same way you will end up with 19 patt




do not fasten off
Fold your work in half
9 sc through both side down the side of your work

Fasten off repeat on other side of your work

Fasten off Sew in all tails, turn your work right side out
To finish the leg openings, sl st at side of opening
 sc all around the leg opening, you will have 26 sc join with firts crochet fasten off
repeat on other side
Sew in all tails

Voila...you are done
